Regular readers of the Business Excellence magazines will be familiar with our coverage of exotic locations and luxurious hotel resorts. Indeed, we currently have a magazine issue on our home page dedicated to the genre, under the headline “the greatest of escapes”.
I’m sure the destinations covered in the magazine are all great in their own way (sadly, unlike some of my more fortunate colleagues, I have no personal experience to draw upon), but what I can tell you is that a new resort opening in The Maldives this summer promises to put them all in the shade.
The new resort, Licensed to Thrill, is the brainchild of Indian entrepreneur Prolof Ali, and it is, quite simply, a James Bond Theme Park.
It will naturally have the most luxurious of hotels, in which martinis will be shaken, not stirred, more than one casino, and attractions like Q’s gadget laboratory, the ice palace from Die Another Day, Fort Knox from Goldfinger, Scaramanga's fun house from The Man With The Golden Gun and Bourbon Street, New Orleans, from Live and Let Die.
Guests will be able to drive a replica of all the Bond cars, including the legendary Aston Martins, Goldfinger’s Rolls-Royce and the submarine Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me.
James Bond is a veteran of 22 films so far, and roaming through the grounds of the resort will be characters from all the films including his CIA ally Felix Leiter, adversary Hugo Drax from Moonraker, Oddjob (watch out for his hat), Jaws (you know what to watch out for there), the irrepressible Ernst Stavro Blofeld with his white cat, and, of course, lookalikes of all the Bond girls.
Look out for our exclusive feature article in the next issue of the Business Excellence EMEA magazine, based on my one-to-one interview with Prolof Ali.
This new theme park resort promises to be the greatest of all escapes, and as a special offer to readers of Business Excellence, Prolof Ali is giving away 100 free holidays this summer, as a goodwill gesture and a customer satisfaction exercise.
Click here to apply for one of the free holidays, and email me at mashcroft@bus-ex.com if you are successful.
Good luck
